A website re-design that benefited from a visual identity enhancement. The site also features short movie presentations - a new addition to Ionic's service offering.
The new site was to appeal to a younger entrepreneur, and incorporate videos of companies who have received assistance through the fund.
After re-working the 'AIB' with a modified Trebuchet font, we made it rounder, bolder and more approachable; and then moved onto bringing those elements into the website design.
Key Objectives & Design Solutions
That the homepage should make an immediate impression of energy, professionalism and positivity:
- We emphasised the bright, energetic colours of the visual branding
- Also, the background sky image conveying the idea of big, unfettered ideas.
- We added the concept of growth to that with the green and the explicit use of the seedling image.
- We made it even more friendly an approachable looking with the rounded forms that we worked into the typography of the logo.
The homepage should quickly give an overview of what the fund can do:
- This was achieved with an image slider at the very top, which gets across the key messages.
- Also, some feature boxes displaying Success Stories, an overview of How the Fund Works, a Video and Announcements.

The AIB Seed Capital Fund has invested in over 50 start-up and early-stage Irish companies, who now employ over 500 people. We commissioned Ionic to redesign both our website and our logo to enhance our appeal to our target audience, typically young Irish entrepreneurs.
